“American gun violence disproportionately effects men of color in our cities, but it’s often women in those communities who are left to pick up the pieces.
Marilyn Harris’ teenage son Khadafy was murdered at his high school in Oakland, California, more than 10 years ago. Since then, Harris has made it her life’s work to help people like her navigate trauma, logistics and bureaucracy in the immediate aftermath of a homicide, when families are often struggling to grieve while also jumping through hoops to obtain government assistance to bury their loved ones.”

-trust your instincts. dont take an old fashioned approach just because old ppl say its “better”. every time you give in to peer pressure, it waters down your art.
