Opening to the dilating shine of bell-runoff, FRIENDZONE creates an accepting atmosphere, indulging MAz with a plucking grasp.  As the vibrations split from their source, a drum stutter-steps, agitating MAz into a radiant portrait.  Alternating these stutters between snares and hi-hats, they give us an excitable gait in which to explore their absorbent space.  Mimicking the hollowed chimes they opened with, FRIENDZONE extends deep metallic parabolas, warping a roundly peaked sound.  FRIENDZONE’s chest-heaving atmosphere consumes adjoining sounds to create open space, the energy to explore it, and the pace at which to do it.  A blinding crescendo thrusts skyward with invigorating synth keys and floral stutters; they create an adrenalizing atmosphere, without colliding sounds.

The summer is about hopeful times, blossoming new experiences, and brightly-charged memories.  MAz captures this season with reverb-treated vocals, occupying the breadth that surrounds them.  Mondre opens with slowly mumbled bars about self-acceptance, not losing faith, and smart wordplay on the happenstance of happiness (‘It only take a night to feel like a star’).  During a hook that features a swollen brightness by FRIENDZONE, Mondre’s hopeful prospects are vibrated into listeners with the soft hums of Squadda, preparing for his verse to come.  Not wanting his mother to worry, resisting the shady life, and loving a woman’s taste, Squadda’s insiprational tone follows his FRIENDZONE- built environment.  Together, the MAz duo use their melodiously-reflected voices to match the acceptance embedded in their soundscape.
